State of Mexico legislators back trans-inclusive social-policy proposal
An October 5 State of Mexico Congress bulletin reports support in joint committees for a proposal to include sexual and gender minorities among groups receiving priority attention in state and municipal social-development policy. The initiative explicitly includes trans and nonbinary people and seeks lasting recognition in the state Social Development Law. The bulletin describes committee discussion and support, not enactment or implementation. Recognizing exclusion can support fairer services, but this proposal does not yet establish new benefits.
