India Supreme Court seeks response to petition on transgender law

India

India’s Supreme Court issued notices to three Union ministries on October 28 over a petition by Women’s Declaration International India, PTI reports. The government said its forthcoming response would address the concerns. These are submissions and a procedural step, not a merits ruling or a new restriction on trans people’s rights.
