Brazilian court preserves University of Brasília trans admissions quota

Brazil

ANTRA reports that a federal court rejected a challenge to the University of Brasília policy reserving 2% of undergraduate places for trans people. The October 8 account says the court upheld university autonomy to adopt affirmative action and retained ANTRA as a participant in the case. ANTRA participated in the litigation; the judgment itself was not independently retrieved. Preserving this route to education matters for trans applicants. The reported decision concerns this university policy and does not create a nationwide quota.
