988 restores specialized LGBTQ youth crisis services; Trevor remains excluded

The Trevor Project confirmed that the 988 Lifeline resumed its specialized LGBTQ youth services on September 30, after their July 2025 termination. In its October 1 statement, the organization welcomed the return but said it had been deemed ineligible to participate in the restored network.
Trevor also noted that the administration had tied the restart to an anti-trans executive order. The restoration is an important access development, but this announcement does not verify how the new network treats trans and nonbinary callers. Trevor says its own crisis lines continue to operate. Trans young people deserve affirming, competent support.
